Interested in journalism?  Looking for an important summer internship to solidify your passion?  We’ve got you covered.  The following companies are looking for interns and are still accepting applicants for the summer.  So, take a look.  You never know what you’ll find…

Time Inc. Summer Internship Program

Located in New York City, “you’ll be placed on a team based on your background, strengths and skills. Come prepared to grow, develop and learn alongside the leaders driving the future of the media landscape.”  Applications are rolling, so keep applying!

The Colorado Springs Gazette

Located in Colorado Spring, CO, internships are both paid and for-credit.  The length of the internship and its specific dates are decided by the intern and the editor.  The Gazette will begin accepting applications January 15 with the deadline on March 15.

Popular Science

Located in New York City, Popular Science is looked for interns for three different categories: Print/Digital, Projects, and Video.  The internships lasts around 12 weeks, and applications are due March 1 for a summer position.

CBS News Internship Program

Located in either New York City or Washington, D.C., the internship seeks students “who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism, broadcasting or production.”  Students will have the chance to work in different departments with CBS, such as “60 Minutes”, “CBS Evening News,” and “Face the Nation.”  Applications must be received by February 28.

D.C. Editorial Slate Summer Internship

Located in Washington, D.C., Slate is seeking interns “have a proven interest in journalism.”  Apply by February 26 to be considered for a position.

NPR Summer Internships

Located at various stations throughout the US, the NPR Summer Internships is “a learning experience like no other.  The NPR internship program has a rich history, helping us discover nearly 10% of our current staff including Ari Shapiro, Audie Cornish, Guy Raz and many more.”  The application for the summer internship will go live in February , and the pay caps at $5,520.

Chicago Magazine

Located in Chicago, the “magazine’s editorial department seeks motivated, enthusiastic journalism students and recent graduates to help with fact checking and story research.  Interns are also encouraged to pitch ideas and write for various sections of the magazine.”  The deadline is April 1, and the pay is minimum wage.
